Oh, Canada. You don’t look at a day over 100!

As July 1st quickly approaches, we prepare to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. This year, cities all over the Niagara Region have stepped up their game to give Canada a 150 to remember.

If you’re in the Niagara Region for Canada’s big day, here are some of the events you should check out!

 
1. Stacks on Stacks, Simcoe Park, Niagara on the Lake
Feeling hungry? If you’re looking for a hearty way to start your day, head to Simcoe Park in downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, where the Rotary Club will be serving up pancakes, sausages, juice, and coffee in the park from 8 – 11am!
2. On the Water, Merrit Park, Welland
The city of Welland is offering free water activities, including paddle boarding, pedal boats, canoes, and kayaks, so you can enjoy Canada 150 from the water!
3. A midday Midway, Rennie Park, Port Dalhousie
Rennie Park in Port Dalhousie is home to the Canada Day Midway! There will be bouncy castles, a rock wall, buskers, and games for everyone to enjoy!
4. Birthday Cake, City Hall, Niagara Falls
The city of Niagara Falls will be handing out free birthday at City Hall beginning at noon, so get there before it’s all gone!
5. Canada Day Cars, Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls
Head over to Victoria Ave for a Canada Day car show and check out an array of new and classic cars!
6. Fun for the whole family, Scotiabank Convention Centre, Niagara Falls
Visit the Scotiabank Convention Centre for a family-friendly Canada Day, featuring a kid’s Fun Zone, art show, mini Canadiana Comic Con, food trucks, and more!
7. Canada Day Parade, Queen St, Niagara on the Lake
Head downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake to watch their annual Canada day Parade! The parade features the 1st Regiment of Foot Fife and Drum Corps, soldiers from Fort George and a giant cake donated by Willow Cakes and Pastries. The parade begins at 2:45 p.m., travels along Queen Street and concludes in Simcoe Park, where the giant cake will be sliced and served.
8. Canada Day Your Way, White Oaks Resort & Spa, Niagara on the Lake
Celebrate Canada your way when you spend the night at White Oaks! Our Canada 150 package includes one night’s accommodation, a bottle of wine in your room, and $125 credit towards dining, or the spa!
9. Fireworks over the falls, Niagara Falls

Check out the oh-so-famous fireworks over the falls! The city of Niagara Falls lights off fantastic fireworks every year for Canada Day, so you can bet they’ve stepped up their game for 150! Fireworks begin at 10pm and admission is free.
